Hanbok or a Palace Walk? Plan the Rental, Cost and Return

Choose one palace near the rental shop if dressing up is the main experience. A historical drama can inspire the visit, but a palace courtyard is not automatically that show's filming set.

Skip rental if the goal is only cheaper admission, if walking in the outfit is uncomfortable, or if you cannot return before the shop deadline. Ordinary clothes keep the day more flexible.

Start and finish at the same rental shop; save its Korean address. Return the outfit and retrieve bags before heading back to Gyeongbokgung or Anguk station. Reserve the final 30 minutes of your rental for return/changing as an editorial buffer, not a measured walk.

One adult: rental + hair/accessories + admission if required + both transport legs + food. Gyeongbokgung standard adult admission is KRW 3,000; eligible hanbok gives free admission, not free rental. Ask for the complete rental quote and late-return/damage terms before paying. A refundable deposit is cash you need available, not an extra cost unless retained.

On a wet day, choose a shorter palace visit in ordinary clothes or postpone rental. Do not add slippery Bukchon slopes just to fill a rental period; an indoor venue does not automatically admit rented clothing or store wet belongings.

Free entry depends on the palace's clothing guidelines, including an appropriate upper and lower garment; a rental receipt alone is insufficient. Check the palace's opening notice for your date before reserving the outfit. Bukchon residential visiting restrictions are separate from palace hours.
