Choose your Korea season by the day you want

Spring or autumn can suit walking-focused trips; summer works better with shorter outdoor sections and indoor breaks. For a short screen-inspired trip, anchor the day with one place whose visiting conditions are known, then add an outdoor view only if the forecast permits. Keep a nearby indoor alternative in the same district; replacing a rainy coastal day with a distant city can consume the time you meant to save.

Skip a fixed blossom, snow or foliage promise. A seasonal average cannot guarantee conditions on your date.

For islands and mountains, keep return transport flexible and check weather warnings before departure; do not put an uncertain return immediately before a flight.

Compare the same hotel, room conditions and transport dates; a season is not automatically cheaper. Keep the paid outdoor booking’s cancellation cost separate from the replacement. Example for a day already in central Seoul: the Craft Museum’s regular exhibitions are free; two separately charged subway journeys at KRW 1,550 add KRW 3,100 before distance charges. This excludes food, card purchase and any non-refundable original ticket; temporary rental exhibitions may charge. A nearby free indoor stop can preserve the day without buying another long-distance trip.

For spring/autumn, keep the walk but recheck the day’s forecast; blossom or foliage dates are not guaranteed. In summer heat or heavy rain, drop the exposed coast/hill and shorten the outdoor section. In winter ice or strong wind, replace an exposed viewpoint with a nearby indoor visit. In Anguk, the Craft Museum normally opens 10:00–18:00 with last entry 30 minutes earlier, closes Mondays except public holidays and on 1 January; check current exceptions. Its children’s museum requires booking and closes every Monday. If the fallback is closed too, use an open local meal stop and return rather than crossing the city.
